These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the PDF Dark Mode browser extension, website, and related services. By using PDF Dark Mode, you agree to these terms.

Use of the Extension

PDF Dark Mode is provided for personal and commercial use to improve PDF readability through customizable display modes and related functionality.

You agree not to:

• Use the extension for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to disrupt or abuse the service
• Misrepresent ownership of the project
• Violate applicable software licenses

Open Source License

PDF Dark Mode includes or is derived from software distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0).

Source code and license information are available through the official GitHub repository.

Pro Features and Payments

Certain features may require payment to access Pro functionality.

Pro is sold as a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no renewal. A purchased Pro license also covers Pro features added in future versions of the extension.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers including Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Dodo Payments, Stripe, or similar platforms.

Pricing and feature availability may change over time. Any such change applies to new purchases only and does not affect a license that has already been bought.

Pro License Validation Policy

• Pro access is activated using a Lemon Squeezy license key.
• License status is validated automatically in the background (no manual validate step in popup).
• Validation is throttled to periodic checks (about every 24 hours), not on every popup open.
• Stale-while-revalidate behavior is used: if a previously active license is stored locally, Pro remains available while background validation runs.
• If Lemon Squeezy reports the license as invalid or inactive (for example after a refund or chargeback), Pro access is removed on the next successful validation.

Refund Policy

Refund requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on the payment provider and applicable consumer protection laws.

Abuse of refund systems or fraudulent purchases may result in termination of access to Pro features.

No Warranty

PDF Dark Mode is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

The project does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with all PDF viewers, or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creators and contributors of PDF Dark Mode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the extension.

Third-Party Services

PDF Dark Mode may link to third-party services including browser extension stores, GitHub, and payment processors.

These services are governed by their own terms and policies.

Termination

Access to Pro features or related services may be suspended or terminated in cases of fraud, abuse, or violations of these terms.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated periodically. Continued use of PDF Dark Mode after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
